Biography of Robert C. McCord

Robert C. McCord is the heart and soul of MultiVex Mirror Company (MMC). He is the inventor of proprietary mirror technology patents and proprietary processes owned by MMC, and is the President and CEO of MMC and it's predecessor companies since 1983.

He has extensive educational and vocational experience in the field of mechanical engineering. He attended the University of California at Los Angeles and served generally in the capacities of Quality Control, Senior Project Design Engineer, Director of Engineering and Plant Operations in a business career that spans 50 years.

Robert served his country in the United States Marine Corps from September 1948 through May of 1955 in many capacities, including Small Arms Instructor (expert in all small arms), Tank and Amphibious Craft Crewman, and Engineering Battalion.

His technical disciplines include, among others; mirror optics, dynamic analysis, stress and structural analysis, cyclic fatigue analysis, and materials applications.

Robert has numerous United States and International patents, issued and pending, spanning 45 years, from vacuum cup lifters for shell eggs to aspheric mirrors for automobiles.

He is a lifetime member of the American Society for Metals (ASM) and an 20 year member of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), where he is a Driver Vision Subcommittee and Non-Planar Mirror Task Force member.

Mr. McCord writes his own patents, oversees the day-to-day operations of MultiVex Mirror Company, and even finds time to thoroughly enjoy other demanding activities, including cycling, golf, chess, ballroom dancing, and organic gardening!
